 Sean Daly

• Credentials: Sean's fascination with human biomechanics and performance was a strong driving force behind becoming a Physical Therapist. College education at University of Queensland studying under the internationally renowned Professor Gwen Jull and Dr. Carolyn Richardson, graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1989. After several years in Australia, he was recruited to Southwest Florida in 1993 and then relocated with his family to Aiken, SC in 1999.
A strong believer in educating his clients about their conditions, Sean seeks quick results and return to full function while still ensuring long-term benefits and good health for his patients.
• Education: University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.
• Hobbies: Born and raised in Australia's Sunshine State, Queensland. An avid youth athlete playing the traditional sports of cricket, rugby and tennis.
As an adult continued with competitive sport in cricket, rugby and volleyball before turning to distance running and triathlon for over 10 years including several marathons and the half-ironman triathlon. He now tries to remain fit through the gym, running and cycling while working on his golf game too. This sporting life has taken him on the professional journey to his special clinical focus and expertise in Elite Athletic Injury Rehabilitation and Post-Surgical Orthopedics.
• What I like MOST about working at South Aiken Physical Therapy: There is a real sense of achievement in restoring and rejuvenating those who come to me initially suffering from pain and disability.

 Darcy Armstrong
Senior Physical Therapist

• Credentials: 2001 recipient of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association's Butch Buchanan Award for Clinical Excellence.
2008 recipient of the Medical College of Georgia's School of Allied Health Science's Fabulous 40 alumni Darcy was chosen out of 7000 Graduates for this recognition for her professional accomplishments.
• Education: AA, Reinhardt College, 1987
BS Physical Therapy, Medical College of Georgia, 1993.
• Hobbies: Darcy's participation in high school and intercollegiate basketball and softball along with exposure to athletic injuries and injuries of her own, led her to the profession of physical therapy. Naturally, an interest in sports and orthopedic injury rehabilitation followed. Since 1993 Darcy has chosen to practice and specialize in orthopedic physical therapy injury/pain rehabilitation with a special interest in the lumbar spine and sacroiliac dysfunction rehabilitation.
When not in the clinic, you will likely find Darcy enjoying the great outdoors. She enjoys weekends with friends, at the lake camping and boating or playing the great game of golf.

Jimmy Batte

• Credentials: He was the recipient of the 2006 Clinical Excellence Award by Greenville Technical College.
• Education: A graduate of Aiken High School, class of 2000. Jimmy received his ASPT from Greenville Technical College.
• Hobbies: Rich with experience in sports medicine, athlete injury prevention and rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation (both non-operative and post-operative), Jimmy is married to his beautiful wife Lauren who is a local elementary school teacher. He is an avid football fan, a "Cheesehead" thru and thru, that bleeds Green Bay Packer green and gold. He is also a fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and attends a majority of their football games during the season.
Jimmy has many outlets that he dabbles in including art (drawing and painting), photography, and cooking. He recently wrote and published a cookbook "From Grandpa's Garden To Grandma's Kitchen - A Collection of Stolen Family Recipes".  Baker Leigh

• Credentials: Baker has sixteen years experience in various settings. His primary areas of interests are post-surgical orthopedics and sports related injuries. Baker plans to be "Back to Golf " Certified by the end of 2011, a specialty certification that will enhance his ability to return the injured golfer back to sport and even enhance performance on the golf course.
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Biology from Coastal Carolina University. Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina.
• Hobbies: In his free time, Baker can be found at the golf course or at a swimming pool watching his 3 children perform. All three are year round swimmers with the Aiken-Augusta Swim League.

Chrissy Pridgen
PT, DPT

• Credentials: Member of the APTA since 2007.
• Education: Undergraduate degree received from Elon University
Doctor of Physical Therapy degree received from University of Dayton in 2010.
• Hobbies: Chrissy is a native from Cleveland, Ohio, but spent many holidays and vacations here in Aiken as a child. She currently resides in Aiken with her husband and her black Labrador named Riley. Clinically her interests lie in identifying and treating low back pain and associated dysfunctions, as well as generalized gait and balance disorders. She is truly passionate about her patients and takes great pride in assisting with the rehabilitation process. Her favorite part of being a therapist is watching the progression from the initial visit to the final visit and seeing them return to their hobbies, careers, and lifestyles which had been hindered by injury, pain, and disability. “I always promised myself I would choose a career that I enjoy and I can honestly say that I love my job!”
• What I like MOST about working at South Aiken Physical Therapy: I love our patients! They are some of the sweetest, most dedicated people I have had the opportunity to work with. Lindsey is a 2007 graduate of Medical College of Georgia. Lindsey is an Aiken native who joined the South Aiken Physical Therapy team in summer of 2010. She works part time with a clinical focus in general orthopedic Physical Therapy. Lindsey is well known in Aiken as she has worked for Walton Rehabilitation and Trinity Home Health Care. |

• Credentials: Belinda has been with South Aiken Physical Therapy since 2007.
• Education: Associates of Art degree received from Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta, GA.
• Hobbies: She moved to Aiken in the Fall of 1990 and has decided to make Aiken her home. After living in many different places, she finds Aiken to be a great place to retire. Belinda is married and has two children. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, interior design, sewing, and walking her two dogs.

• Credentials: Susan has been working here at South Aiken Physical Therapy for a little over three years.
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina-Aiken.
• Hobbies: She was born and raised in Edgefield County. She loves spending time with her wonderful and caring family. She has been married to her amazing husband for seven years and they have a very spoiled Pomeranian. In her spare time, Susan enjoys reading, shopping with her mom, fishing with her dad and husband, and watching scary movies.
• What I like MOST about working at South Aiken Physical Therapy: Sean and Darcy are the most amazing people to work for! SAPT is like my second family.  Rebecca Drinkwater

• Credentials: Rebecca has lived in Aiken most of her life and grew up knowing she wanted to help
others, but not sure how. While earning her degree at USC Aiken, she worked in several
community programs in the school. The cardiac and seniors wellness program were the main
programs that gained her interest. Her passion grew as she was able to help rehabilitate
people and educate them about their health. During the time she was involved in these
programs, several people talked to her about working at South Aiken Physical Therapy. They
knew before she did that working here would be in her best interest.
• Education: 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina- Aiken with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science and minor in Arts
• Hobbies: Outside of work, Rebecca has many different hobbies. She enjoys writing songs on the piano, learning new songs on the guitar, working out, shopping, watching movies, and trying new types of food.

Jon Derrick

• Credentials: Jon has been with our team since August of 2009. At South Aiken Physical Therapy Jon does office and clinical work and is “the jack of all trades”. He was inspired to obtain a degree in Management after deciding that he enjoys the ins and outs of running a business. He believes that proper training, as well as experience is vital to running a successful business to ensure that in all situations you’re confident in how to handle them. He is also a graduate of the Augusta School of Massage. He has always been interested in some form of orthopedic work as this is what inspired him to pursue massage therapy. Orthopedic massage is just one of many areas of study, but he feels that this will be one of the main areas of study for him, along with myofascial release technique and musculoskeletal alignment techniques. He enjoys helping people become pain free as well as helping them regain back their functionality. He is currently working on getting his license as a massage therapist in South Carolina.

Ward Reckart

• Credentials: USA Weight lifting Sports Performance Coach certified
CPR and First-Aid certified. Ward comes to South Aiken Physical Therapy as a rehabilitation aid. Previously, Ward was the wellness coordinator for the USC-Aiken wellness center. Before moving to Aiken, he was a sports performance coach for Velocity Sports Performance in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has trained athletes from the age of six all the way to the elite level. He received his B.S. in Sports Nutrition from Mansfield University, and his Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University. He is currently pursuing a career as a Physical Therapist.

• Education: 2006 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Hobbies: She graduated in 2006 from the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. Before coming on board here, she taught at a local private school for two years. She has been married to her wonderful husband for eight years and is the mother of a very energetic two-year-old boy. Although Alicia loves her job here at SAPT, her favorite job is being a mother. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and shopping.
• What I like MOST about working at South Aiken Physical Therapy: I love the atmosphere of team work. Everyone works together to accomplish one goal, helping our patients in the healing process. We also have the best patients. Everyone is so kind and loving every time they come to therapy. Having such a wonderful place to come to work is truly a blessing and makes the day very enjoyable!

Terisa Fugate

• Credentials: Certificate in Pre-Physical Therapy from Aiken Technical College.
• Education: Associates in Physical Therapy Assistant from Greenville Technical College.
• Hobbies: Terisa, originally from Jackson, SC moved to Aiken in 1985. Terisa has three wonderful children, Justin Leonard, Caitlyn, and Colton Fugate. In her free time, she loves to bake, watch the Gamecocks, and spend time with her kids and family. Her clinical interests include working with knees and balance with patients of all different ages. She also loves aquatic therapy, massage, and would like to be certified in wound care.
• What I like MOST about working at South Aiken Physical Therapy: Everyone here at South Aiken Physical Therapy is like family, which makes it a pleasure to come to work. It is an awesome work environment with warm and friendly staff. We have experienced therapists who are willing to guide, teach, and learn from each other.
